Illegal
Immigration is a complex issue and in my opinion the key is jobs, no
jobs no illegal immigration. In the long run, fences won't
work. Our country has approximately 6,000 miles of open borders
besides another 5,000 or so miles of ocean side, making it nearly
impossible to control effectively.
We need to start by enforcing
the law against employers who hire illegal workers and needs to be a
simple way to assure the social security card presented is authentic
by having it part of a national data base that easily checkable.
Today, it's too easy to obtain counterfeit cards technology is
surely the answer.
Concerning the millions
or so illegal that are already in this country; we need to offer a
program that combines registration with fines and fees. There is no
physical way of processing them through our already over burdened
federal court system or making them
felons without first giving them due process.
